Para volverte a ver

Para volverte a ver (Too see you again) is a choral story from Denmark, Switzerland and Catalonia where we will go through life stories that show us the diversity of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia and the ways to rebuild a new life. The importance of the active participation of the diasporas and the contribution of the testimonies to create a collective memory and truth that will give Colombia a chance for lasting peace.

A production of Mandorla Films together with ICIP (International Catalan Institute for Peace) in the context of the work of the Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-Repetition of Colombia.

28 June 2022 was an important date for Colombia. On that day, Colombia's Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-Repetition presented its final report after three years of work. It was a ground-breaking mandate. For the first time a truth commission has included the population living outside the country as a subject of participation.

The ICIP (International Catalan Institute for Peace) has been a direct part of this process, acting as the Commission's Technical Secretariat in Europe. One of its objectives has been to accompany the victims of the Colombian conflict in exile and to promote their active participation in the process.

The production of Para volverte a ver began in early 2022. The aim of the ICIP and the Truth Commission was to portray the experience of several Colombian exiles in Europe who have given their testimony to the Commission from abroad.

The aim of the documentary is to show the importance of the active participation of diasporas in peacebuilding, as a transformative process both on a personal and collective level, based on the concrete and unprecedented case of the Colombian Truth Commission.
